Position Summary

The Senior Marketing Communications & Strategy Manager plays a critical role in shaping and executing Busey’s integrated marketing efforts. This strategic, hands-on position leads the development and implementation of multi-channel campaigns, oversees brand messaging and communications, and drives marketing initiatives aligned with the organization’s business goals. This role requires a versatile leader who can balance high-level strategy with day-to-day execution, collaborate cross-functionally, and ensure marketing programs are consistently delivered with clarity, creativity, and impact.

Duties & Responsibilities

​Strategic Marketing Planning

  • Lead the planning and execution of annual and quarterly marketing strategies in alignment with corporate objectives and business unit priorities
  • Partner with key stakeholders to define campaign goals, audience segmentation, and success metrics.
  • Translate business needs into compelling marketing programs and content strategies.

Integrated Campaign Management

  • Develop and execute comprehensive, multi-channel campaigns across digital, print, social, events, and owned media platforms.
  • Maintain and manage the marketing calendar to ensure message consistency and channel alignment.
  • Analyze performance and optimize campaigns based on data-driven insights.​

Brand Messaging & Content Oversight

  • Lead brand storytelling and content strategy across platforms, ensuring a consistent voice, tone, and visual identity.
  • Develop and review marketing copy for campaigns, internal communications, product launches, and executive messaging.
  • Serve as final approver for high-visibility content ensuring clarity, accuracy, and brand compliance.

Channel Ownership & Execution

  • Manage marketing execution across digital platforms (email, web, paid media), print collateral, internal communications, and events.
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners, including designers, writers, agencies, and business units, to deliver high-quality deliverables on time.
  • Provide leadership in identifying emerging channels or tactics to enhance brand visibility and engagement.

Project Leadership & Collaboration

  • Serve as a central marketing liaison for internal business lines, delivering tailored strategies and execution support.
  • Provide day-to-day direction to junior marketing team members or cross-functional contributors as needed.
  • Support marketing governance processes, brand integrity standards, and campaign intake and prioritization.

Education & Experience

​Knowledge Of:

  • CRM, CMS, marketing automation, and analytics tools (e.g., Salesforce, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics, HubSpot, etc.).
  • Financial Services Industry

Ability To:

  • Manage campaigns across digital and traditional channels.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and influence without authority.
  • Leverage storytelling skills to write and edit content while maintaining
  • Manage projects, and balance multiple priorities in a dead-line driven environment.

Education and Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in marketing communications, brand strategy, or integrated marketing.
  • Experience within the financial services industry preferred.

Benefits and Compensation

Salary offered is based on factors, including but not limited to, the job duties, required qualifications and relevant experience, and local market trends. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance.

(Base Pay Range: $80,000 - $100,000/year)
