Position Summary
The Director of Estate Settlement Services is responsible for providing leadership and execution of post mortem estate settlement services to support growth initiatives of the Company. Effectively oversee and manage the postmortem trust and estate settlement team within wealth management.
• Support local relationship teams in postmortem trust and estate settlement administration matters.
• Handle postmortem trust and estate settlement services in accordance with the terms of the governing instruments, trust and estate laws, local law, tax law and sound fiduciary principles.
• Draft, maintain and communicate relevant policies and procedures for the department and provide reporting to Executive Leadership or other appropriate committees.
• Lead or serve as a member of governance committees, developing and advising on policy and procedure changes that improve fiduciary oversight, and leading projects to implement such changes
• Interact with our Fiduciary Advisors, Wealth Advisors, Co-Fiduciaries and beneficiaries as appropriate in determining the investment objective, cash requirements for the account and cash or in-kind distributions.
• Partner with attorneys and other professionals during all stages of trust and estate settlement including maintaining client files, preparing materials for client meetings, managing deadlines,
collecting information necessary to complete reporting and filing requirements and attending to clients concerns and needs.
• Responsible for sales and implementation of estate and trust products to core clients; assess other wealth management opportunities that fit trust clients.
• Stay informed of all Bank and Wealth Management policies and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with Fiduciary Advisors to coordinate relationship transitions to and from Estate Settlement Services team Responsible for outreach to the Wealth, Commercial and Retail team for internal educational
opportunities and promotion of Trust and Estate Settlement services.
• Assist with development and implementation of program geared toward Center of Influence outreach for purposes of promoting Trust and Estate Settlement services.
Knowledge of: Technical expertise on federal and fiduciary income and state estate tax, and postmortem administration of trusts and estates.

• Analyze and solve problems that frequently involve decisions based on a wide knowledge of many factors where application of advanced technical concepts is predominantly required
• Education and Training: Requires a four-year college degree and preferably completion or enrollment in desirable wealth management designations, including LOM, CFP, JD CFA, and/or CPA.
Preferred knowledge, Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA)
• A JD with 5 or more years of experience in estate settlement.
• Requires experience or demonstrated understanding of wealth management solutions including investments, banking and trust concepts including, but not limited to asset allocation, advanced estate planning, retirement plans, insurance, and identification/implementation of additional wealth planning opportunities.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary offered is based on factors, including but not limited to, the job duties, required qualifications and relevant experience, and local market trends. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance.
(Base Pay Range: $126,000 - $168,00/year)
